The Shipper / Consignee may reach an agreement to follow INCOTERMS for their shipments to be executed, as per their requirements. We at Cargosafe provide seamless services to our customers according to the INCOTERMs agreed upon by the shipper/consignee.

As a freight forwarder, we play a crucial role in handling various shipment terms, including EXW (Ex Works), DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), DAP (Delivered at Place), and DTD (Delivered to Door). Here's a guide on how to handle each shipment term:

EX Work shipment service

EXW (Ex Works)

EXW – This is known as “Ex-Factory “. The buyer/consignee takes risk and rewards from shipper’s factory and bears all the costs like transportation from shipper’s factory till CFS/port, custom related to the shipment from shipper’s factory to place/port of destination, customs examination, freight forwarding till port of discharge / place of delivery.

Coordinate with the seller to arrange the pickup of goods from their location.

Provide guidance on export procedures and documentation required by the buyer.

- Assist the buyer in arranging transportation, customs clearance, and delivery to the final destination.

DDP (Delivered Duty Paid)

DDP – This INCOTERM indicates “Door Delivery Duty Paid “ which means the shipper arranges delivery to the buyer’s premise/factory and bears all the post landing costs like custom clearance , duty and taxes , destination local charges and transportation till buyer’s premise. .

Coordinate the entire logistics process, including pickup, transportation, customs clearance, and final delivery.

Advise the buyer on import duties, taxes, and customs regulations.

Handle all customs formalities and ensure that the buyer is not responsible for any costs or risks beyond the agreed-upon delivery point.

DAP (Delivered at Place)

DAP – Previously this was known as “DDU” i.e., Door Delivery Duty Unpaid but not the same has been replaced by the INCOTERM “DAP “- “Delivery at Place” which means the shipper agrees to arrange the delivery of the consignment at the buyer designated place at destination.

Arrange transportation and delivery of goods to the buyer's specified location.

Assist the buyer in completing necessary import procedures and customs clearance.

Ensure that the buyer is responsible for any applicable duties, taxes, and customs clearance at the destination.

DTD (Door to Door)

DTD – This is called “Door to Door “shipment which means either shipper/consignee asks for DTD shipment execution thereby either party absorbs all the costs like pick up from shipper’s factory, custom clearance at port of loading, freight forwarding, custom clearance at port of discharge, destination charges, origin port charges, transportation from port of discharge till final place of delivery-

Handle the entire logistics process, including pickup, transportation, customs clearance, and final delivery to the buyer's door.

Coordinate with carriers and local agents to ensure smooth delivery to the buyer's specified location.

Advise the buyer on import requirements and assist with customs procedures at the destination.

2. Documentation:

Assist in preparing and reviewing all necessary shipping and customs documentation, such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and customs declarations.

3. Transportation:

Arrange suitable transportation modes (air, sea, road, rail) based on the shipment's requirements and coordinate with carriers and agents for pickup, transit, and delivery.

4. Customs Clearance:

Ensure compliance with export and import regulations, assist with customs clearance procedures, and coordinate with customs authorities.

5. Tracking and Monitoring:

Utilize tracking systems and tools to monitor the shipment's progress and keep all parties informed about its status and estimated arrival time.

6. Issue Resolution Address any issues or challenges that arise during the shipment process, such as customs delays, documentation discrepancies, or transportation disruptions.

7. Post-Delivery Support: Provide post-delivery assistance, such as handling claims for damages, addressing discrepancies, or resolving any issues that may arise after the delivery.

8. Billing and Documentation Prepare accurate billing and documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and any other required paperwork. Ensure that all relevant documents are provided to the client promptly and maintain proper records for accounting, auditing, and reference purposes.
